Have you ever wondered about your true purpose in life?

Five years ago, my answer to that question shifted when I met Bill Redmon. Bill showed me what true service looks like, inspiring me to advocate for a community that is too often overlooked: children and adults living with disabilities who simply want the freedom to play in the water.

As Captain of Paddlers with a Purpose, leading our giant 10-person Voyageur canoes is one of the highlights of my year. We paddle so that fellow human beings living with disabilities will finally get to experience the simple freedom of a splash pad or a lazy river—a place that won't exist unless we build it.

What P.U.R.P.O.S.E. Means to Me

• P – Pioneering a one-of-a-kind inclusive aquatic park in Central Florida.

• U – Unlocking joy for individuals with disabilities and their families.

• R – Raising the essential funds needed for park construction.

• P – Paddling with intention on October 31st.

• O – Overcoming physical barriers together through adaptive design.

• S – Supporting a park project 5 years in the making.

• E – Expanding possibilities as we enter groundbreaking mode!
