At age 16, I was a cadet on a camping trip with a nonprofit military group in my native Puerto Rico when my life changed forever.

I jumped from a tree into the river below, struck a large rock, and instantly became quadriplegic.

Now, at age 35, I live with my parents, who are also my caregivers, in a small apartment near Lake Wales, Florida. But I have never given up on my dream of one day living independently, owning a home, and having a family of my own.

StirringWaters will be a place where I can enjoy the water alongside my family—together, without barriers.
